Rarity Score + Rankings added to Evaluate.Market
All 12 NFT collections now display rarity rankings and scores
Introducing Rarity v1 to Evaluate.Market
Hello again! We are excited to announce that we have added our v1 rarity score to all collections available on Evaluate.Market.
The scores can be viewed on our marketplace listings page, on the NFT pages, Account Value, and on our new Rarity Rankings page - which is available once you select an NFT collection under the “Analyze” menu.
What is the score?
We aimed to keep the score both simple and applicable to all the projects we support, avoiding subjective and abstract measures in our first iteration as much as we could.
There is no standard definition for NFT rarity, and multiple methods such as average rarity (the average of the individual trait rarities) and statistical rarity (the product of the trait rarities) exist and are used commonly in the NFT world.
We elected to go with an average rarity that accounts for the NFT trait count:
Σ(1 / Trait Rarity) / # of Traits - with a bonus added to rare trait counts (such as a 4 trait BAYC ape)
Why add a rarity score?
While there are other resources for NFT rarity, we wanted to provide our users with an approximation of rarity in order to help make purchasing decisions while using the marketplace feature.
We believe that the rarity adds context to listings, and that seeing rarity alongside real-time listings can give our users an advantage in making timely purchases.
