What is NFL All Day?
The creators of NBA Top Shot have finally released their second professional sports project offering after a long period of anticipation among the community. A closed beta version of NFL All Day kicked off in early December with a few thousand users ranging from VIP accounts, to owners of NBA Top Shot’s most sought after set collection in the Nine Lives Lounge Cool Cats set, to casual collectors added from the waitlist. NFL All Day is the NFL’s version of the wildly successful NBA highlight NFT project in NBA Top Shot. Dapper Labs is the company behind both of these highlight based NFT projects and they were also the ones who coined the term NFT when they released their initial product offering called Cryptokitties. Dapper Labs has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to back these projects and the expectations and possibilities are massive for NFL All Day.
The NBA was the first major sports league to develop a partnership with a digital collectibles company when they did that with Dapper Labs that brought the world their NFTs all the way back in 2020. Now almost every major brand and company has some kind of licensing deal or partnership with a digital collectible company to give their fans a new way to collect one of a kind and unique NFTs. That is almost every major brand except for the NFL. Until now.
The NFL’s partnership with Dapper Labs opens up a huge opportunity for those who are looking to collect and get in early to the league’s first NFT product in NFL All Day. The NFL and the NBA are two of the most popular sports leagues and brands in the United States and even in the world. NBA Top Shot took a while to catch on with the public as it was created in 2020 and didn’t develop mass adoption until early 2021 as the idea of NFTs weren’t greatly accepted until shortly after. In February and March of 2021 however, NBA Top Shot saw their user base and community grow from just a few thousand accounts to hundreds of thousands. It was the most hyped digital collectible project at the time and it was a way for NBA fans to collect and gamify the way they follow the league.
NBA Top Shot has grown at a rapid rate in 2021 as it is close to one million users on the platform as of December 2021. NFL All Day should be able to grow at an even faster anticipated rate than NBA Top Shot did as those members from NBA Top Shot have been clawing at the opportunity to begin collecting NFL highlights the same as they have been for the NBA. The advantage that NFL All Day has is that they should see an influx of users from NBA Top Shot but also from NFL fans who were not already on NBA Top Shot.
So how does someone get into the closed beta for NFL All Day? It has only been opened to a select few thousand collectors so far but the best bet to get in as early as possible is to add yourself to the waitlist. They have been slowly adding new users from this list to their closed beta that currently is open for accounts to purchase some of the first ever released packs from the project. There is currently no marketplace to buy and sell these NFT highlights at the moment that they are pulling from packs but they will be able to when that feature is eventually released.
Evaluate.Market has already added NFL All Day to their product offering where these moments pulled from packs can be viewed. Some of the moments already revealed from NFL All Day include future hall of fame running back Adrian Peterson and NFL First Team defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Information we can gather from these series 1 moments include seeing that these collectibles are being minted in various ranges including 10,000 for Adrian Peterson and 7,000 for Aaron Donald or even out of just just 699 for Quinn Meinerz. And yes, offensive lineman such as Quinn Meinerz will have NFL All Day moments. These moments will vary in price based on the count of them minted, the rarity, the highlight moment, and the overall demand and popularity of the player.
NFL All Day figures to be a very similar product offering to NBA Top Shot, if not almost identical. This includes having a wide range of scarcity in the moments as we just looked at, to having various tiers of moments, to creating different sets and special pack drops for users to collect. There also will likely be challenges similar to NBA Top Shot where collectors can use specific moments in their collection or acquire them to be rewarded a newly minted moment. Fantasy sports has been a popular request from NBA Top Shot users and they have responded in series 3 with a flurry of fantasy related flash challenges where collectors need to own the top five scorers or rebounders for that night to complete a challenge. Fantasy football is a huge industry and surely NFL All Day will also incorporate a similar gamification aspect to collecting these moments that we have already seen on NBA Top Shot.
While the closed beta for NFL All Day is already underway, interested NFL digital collectible collectors can get in through the waitlist or when the beta is opened up. Currently, the few thousand collectors with access to the closed beta can be viewed on Evaluate.Market where anyone can see the moments that they have collected through the very first pack drops. Many current NBA Top Shot collectors are chomping at the bit to get into the NFL All Day beta as they know how critical it is for collectors to get in on the onset of new platforms and projects. This is a great opportunity for NFL fans and digital collectible collectors to get in early to one of the most highly anticipated and possibly biggest NFT projects of the year.
